]]>
Music legend Bob Dylan has owned the historic Aultmore estate in the Scottish Highlands since 2006, when he and his brother David Zimmerman purchased it for roughly $3.5 million US. Now, they're reportedly looking to sell the handsome piece of real estate, this time with a listing price of almost $4 million.

With a total of 16 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms spread across the 18,000-square-foot main house that dates back to well over 100 years ago, Aultmore sits on a beautiful 24-acre lot that's surrounded by the dense greenery of Cairngorm National Park. The property listing mentions updates to the home's plumbing and electrical systems between 2007 and 2008, so this is one property that's been brought relatively up to date in addition to its historic charm. The listing goes on:

"The property is approached via a private tree-lined driveway with a turning circle and parking area to the front. The A-listed property has retained many of the features and designs from the original owner with the main elevation having a delightful symmetrical appearance with large astragal windows, and an elegant columned central block flanked by two stone gazebos. The internal features are superb with Adam style marble fireplaces in most reception rooms, beautifully detailed plasterwork on ceilings and archways, superb timber floors and facings throughout."

Why would Bob Dylan want to get rid of such a gem, especially after nearly 20 years of ownership? As realtor Tom Stewart-Moore explained to the Scottish Daily Express, it's because he and his brother just don't get to use it as much as they used to:

"They've not been able to use it in recent years, and that's the reason for the sale. Up until about pre-Covid times, Bob and his brother would normally go there for a few weeks a year."

Amenities in the mansion include a billiard room, drawing rooms, and a formal dining room, in addition to its myriad other historical details. Then there are the equally charming outdoor touches like the property's two gazebos, fountain, walled garden, and pond.

The mansion has been available to rent in the past for weddings and other functions. You can see just such a wedding at Aultmore in the video below from Thistle Production and get an idea of what the property is like:

Adam Neumann Lowers Price Of NYC Triplex For The Third Time https://www.celebritynetworth.com/articles/celebrity-homes/adam-neumann-lowers-price-of-nyc-triplex-for-the-third-time/ Mon, 07 Aug 2023 09:03:29 +0000 https://www.celebritynetworth.com/?p=350662 It's a massive 7,880-square-foot monster that Neumann himself created by combining the building's more conventionally proportioned penthouse apartment and another unit one floor below, turning a duplex into a triplex.

WeWork co-founder Adam Neumann is trying again to sell his massive Gramercy Park penthouse, and he's slashed the asking price in an attempt to entice a buyer.

Neumann first tried to sell the three-story, six-bedroom pad off-market in 2019 before listing it officially for $37.5 million the following year, and now he's trying a third time, now with an asking price of $32 million.

One reason Neumann might be having a hard time getting rid of the place is that it's a massive 7,880-square-foot monster that he himself created by combining the building's more conventionally proportioned penthouse apartment and another unit one floor below, turning a duplex into a triplex. He made those purchases in 2017 for $27.5 million, when he also bought two ground floor apartments in the same building, reportedly paying another $7.2 million for them.

Michael Kovac/Getty Images

Here's how the penthouse is described in its official listing:

"Entering via keyed elevator access on all three levels, you are greeted by white wood-paneled walls, adorned with ornate plaster ceiling rosettes, imported finishes from France, and complemented by the tasteful integration of handsome chandeliers from John Rosselli & Associates. The apartment is outfitted with custom windows, individually controlled central air, skylit spiral staircase, and features a private 955 square foot roof terrace."

The listing also touts the building's elite Gramercy Park location, as well as white glove service for its just six units (most of which seem to have been owned at least at one time by Neumann himself). The penthouse dates back to before World War II, but was relatively recently redesigned by Pietro Cicognani of Cicognani Kalla and decked out with interiors by Windsor Smith, also per the property's official listing.

And now, with a $5.5 million price cut, this penthouse triplex can find a new owner at a relative bargain.

Fashion industry mainstay Kimora Lee Simmons has made a tidy profit on her Beverly Hills mansion,. Simmons has sold the home she purchased in 2008 for $11 million, finding a buyer for a final sale price of $16.5 million. The unnamed new owner of the property isn't letting it sit idle, reportedly making it available for lease on either a short or long-term basis at $100,000 per month.

The house itself is a picture of old-school Beverly Hills opulence. It spreads across almost 9,500 square feet with 9 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, plus a host of amenities, most of which were mentioned in the property's official listing:

"Nestled behind grand gates in one of Beverly Hills' most prestigious neighborhoods, lies a Mediterranean estate of unparalleled grandeur. The compound, with its manicured landscaping, offers the ultimate in privacy and seclusion, allowing for the full enjoyment of the custom pool, spa, sports court, and tended garden. Upon entering the double-height foyer, one is immediately struck by the opulence of the mahogany wood-paneled library, formal living and dining rooms, and the grandeur of the eat-in kitchen complete with full-size butler's pantry. The estate also boasts a gym and wine cellar, catering to the tastes of the most discerning individuals. The primary suite, a true sanctum of luxury, features a stunning chandelier, wood-burning fireplace, spectacular balcony, and dual exquisite custom bathrooms with walk-in closets. There are five additional en-suite bedrooms upstairs, along with an upstairs family room."

Other structures on the property include a fully detached guest house with its own kitchen and a rooftop cabana that offers "panoramic views of the estate."

Simmons made a respectable $5.5 million profit in the sale compared to her initial purchase price back in 2008, but the $16.5 million sale price was actually something of a bargain compared to the asking price she had been listing it for: a little under $23 million.

The new owner, it is said, does intend to eventually renovate the property and move in full-time, just putting it up for rent in the meantime. You can take a look at the mansion for yourself in the video below from Neue Argot Creative:

Retired baseball player Gary Matthews Jr., formerly of the Los Angeles Angels, is looking to part ways with a handsome piece of Newport Beach property he's owned for well over a decade. He's listed the 6,232-square-foot home that he commissioned himself after purchasing the land in 2013 for $3 million with an asking price of $22 million.

The home, located in the Newport Beach neighborhood of Corona del Mar, has four bedrooms and seven bathrooms, plus amenities like a lounge, media room, office space, wine cellar, and more. And according to its official listing, it's an architectural masterwork from architect Carlton Graham that uses the form almost to tell a story to everyone who steps inside:

"The residence slowly introduces itself, as if to build suspense before revealing its phenomenal views. A gated entry courtyard offers privacy from the street and leads to a pivoting glass entry door. From there, panoramic vistas come to life with passing yachts, sunsets of pure magic, and evening lights that dance across the water below. The main level is open and bright, with walls of floor-to-ceiling windows and fold-away glass doors framing views and welcoming natural light. Discover a great room with fireplace and dining area, an island kitchen with premium appliances, white oak ceilings, and limestone floors and wall accents."

The listing also touts the heated view outdoor deck (complete with BBQ bar for outdoor entertaining) that surrounds the house, and a terrace with an infinity-edge swimming pool. Then there are the surrounding views, which are no less impressive than the home itself: "panoramic vistas come to life with passing yachts, sunsets of pure magic, and evening lights that dance across the water below."

This is not the first time Matthews has attempted to sell the home. He actually listed it back in 2015, shortly after its completion the previous year, but for whatever reason a buyer wasn't found and the sale never happened.

You can take a look at a (pretty unusual) video of the property from around the time of its first listing below, from the Smith Group Real Estate YouTube channel:

One of the most notable mansions in ritzy Bel Air, known as Casa Encantada, can be yours if you have a qaurter-billion dollars. Casa Encantada was designed by James E. Dolena during the Great Depression. Over the years its previous owners include hotel business patriarch Conrad Hilton and Dole billionaire David Murdock.

Current owners, billionaires Gary and Karen Winnick, have placed it on the market with an asking price of $250 million. If it sells at that price, will make it the most expensive private residence ever sold in the United States, and even more incredibly, it will be the third time this legendary property has held that record.

David Murdock first put Casa Encantada in the real estate history books when he paid $12.4 million for it back in 1980. Paying $12.4 million in 1980 is the same as paying $46 million today.

In 2000, it broke the record for priciest home sale in the country again when the Winnicks bought it for $94 million.

Casa Encantada is a gem at any price, sprawling across 40,000 square feet and sitting on 8.5 acres of the most expensive real estate in the world.

In addition to its elegant charms, Casa Encantada has some pretty interesting lore behind it. It was constructed for a wealthy widow named Hilda Boldt Weber during the height of the Great Depression, on land she bought in 1934 for $100,000, an astronomical amount at the time. According to the book "The Legendary Estates of Beverly Hills" by Jeff Hyland, Weber had a specific reason for wanting to build such a palace at a time when an unprecedented number of Americans were living hand to mouth or much worse:

"She wanted to make a major statement and assume what she considered to be her rightful place in Los Angeles society. That required a magnificent new estate."

"Magnificent" it was then, and magnificent it remains today, thanks in part to an extensive restoration overseen by its current owners, one that took more than two years and untold millions of dollars to complete.

Now, the home is once again in contention for most expensive private home in the US, a record it will hold for the third time if it sells for more than the $238 million that Ken Griffin paid for this massive New York City penthouse in 2019.

You can take a look at Casa Encantada in the video below by the Billionaire Drone YouTube channel:

Julia Koch, widow of late billionaire David Koch, has sold the couple's handsome townhouse in Manhattan to an unknown buyer for $41 million. The deal was completely off-market, and the property was never listed for sale. David and Julia Koch paid $40.25 million for the property in 2018, so the deal isn't a particularly profitable one.

Located just off of Park Avenue, the home boasts a total of around 15,000 square feet of living space, with six stories, eight bedrooms, and touches like a first-floor garden, a media room, a spa, a sports court, and an open staircase that connects all six floors. At some point, the property was reportedly renovated by architect Peter Marino.

The property has an elevator for accessing all six floors. It has a total of ten bathrooms and was described in a prior listing as being a combination of "modern convenience and luxury."

The sale is only the latest big real estate deal made by Julia Koch in recent years. She bought two Upper East Side apartments sometime last year from the estate of Paul Allen, the late co-founder of Microsoft, paying a total of $101 million for both.

In 2021, she spent $70 million on a Southampton property.

Julia is also preparing to sell her 740 Park Avenue duplex, having listed it with an asking price of $48 million. That listing, like the Manhattan townhouse sale, is being handled by Leighton Candler of the Corcoran Group, who issued a brief press statement:

"Every detail of the 76th Street townhouse was perfect, and we are now excited to focus on the sale of Mrs. Koch's recently renovated 740 Park Avenue apartment."

Koch, 61, is currently serving as president of her late husband's David H. Koch Foundation. The non-profit organization is focused on issues relating to medical research, education, arts funding, and other causes.

When her husband died in August 2019, Julia inherited his $58 billion fortune and instantly became one of the richest women in the world.

Today, Julia's $62 billion net worth makes her the 20th richest person in the world and third richest woman in the world behind only Walmart heiress Alice Walton ($67 billion) and L'Oreal heiress Francoise Bettencourt-Meyers ($90 billion).

If all goes to plan, he's about to fly that jet from his Georgia mansion to his new $37 million Miami mansion.

Rick Ross is having quite a summer!

Exactly one month ago, the rapper/entrepreneur revealed over Instagram that he had recently acquired – and then fully customizeda 2012 Gulfstream G550 private jet. Depending on the age and condition, a 2012 Gulfstream G550 would have cost Rick between roughly $14.5 million and $40 million. The customizations would then cost a separate several million dollars.

The Gulfstream was legally purchased by a Florida-based company called Maybach Air LLC, with a primary airport just outside of Miami. That was a bit surprising to me because Rick's primary residence for the last decade has been an absolutely enormous (both in terms of acreage and square footage) estate outside of Atlanta.

Rick's Atlanta estate is the LARGEST private residence in Georgia. It was originally built by Evander Holyfield. The mansion is over 50,000 square feet and has 100+ rooms. It sits on 230 acres. Rick bought the estate in 2014 for $5.8 million. A few years later Rick bought an adjacent 90 acre property. He dubbed the property "The Promise Land." Today his total acreage is 322.

So why not use a Georgia LLC for the private jet registration?

I think we just found out.

Sources speaking to TMZ claim that Rick Ross is under contract to purchase a home on Miami's exclusive Star Island. The reported purchase price is…

$37 million

If this proves true, Rick is paying $500,000 under the home's most-recent asking price. But on the plus side for the sellers, $37 million is a significant gain over the $4.6 million they spent on the 12,000 square foot waterfront mansion back in 1999.

As you're about to see from the video tour below, the mansion is incredible. It's a 40,000 square foot lot with a 40 foot dock and 100 feet of ocean frontage. The interior features 30-foot ceilings, Travertine floors and direct pool/bay views.

The home was listed just 63 days ago so Rick moved pretty fast. Here's a video tour of the home:

According to a quick search, a flight from a private airport in Miami to the nearest private airport near his Atlanta estate would take exactly two hours.

There are just 33 homes on the gate-guarded Star Island.

If Rick's purchase closes, he will be just a few minutes walk to Diddy's two-home compound.

Other Star Island celebrity residents (past and present) include:

  • Gloria Estefan
  • Rosie O'Donnell
  • Jennifer Lopez
  • Lisa Hochstein (a reality star)
  • Shaquille O'Neal

Kimberly Knausz with ONE Sotheby's International Realty reportedly worked closely with Rick Ross's sister Twanda Roberts to secure this deal.

Tucked away in the Miami suburb of Pinecrest is a property that Dion Waiters, who won a championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020, calls "Waiters Island" in reference to his NBA nickname. But Waiters Island may soon be Waiters Island no more, since Waiters has reportedly been trying to sell the property for months, and just recently dropped its asking price from $18 million to $16.5 million.

Waiters' desire to move back to his hometown in Philadelphia full time is reportedly driving the sale. But the effort to find a buyer has evidently stalled, and now the price has gotten a hefty $1.5 million discount.

On the other hand, if Dion does get $16.5 million, that will be a significant profit over his 2017 purchase price of $7.4 million.

As for the home itself, it's a secluded hideaway that really earns the Waiters Island moniker. It sprawls across almost 14,000 square feet of living space on a two-acre lot, with nine bedrooms and 13 bathrooms, the property's official listing calls it "[o]ne of the largest homes ever built" in the area. It goes on, not shying away from the "private island" imagery without actually naming Waiters himself:

"Live like you're on your own Island w the most exclusive privacy, resort style ambiance, entertainers paradise and a car connoisseur's dream. Features a front water pool, towering ceilings, 12Ft doors, Theatre, 3 enormous primary suites w unimaginable closet spaces. The most grand kitchen one would ever need, accompanied with a very lavish outdoor kitchen area, teppanyaki grill, bbq and all top of the line appliances. More than enough space to add a tennis/bball court if desired."

Onzyte Productions

The home makes a palatial impression, with touches like an entry court with reflecting pools and animal sculptures, and now it's available at a bargain. With the price cut, hopefully Waiters Island will find its new owner in the near future.

You can take a look at it in the video below from the Onzyte Productions YouTube channel:

Dion was the #4 overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft. He went on to earn $70 million during his NBA career, which lasted from 2012 to 2021.

The end of his NBA career was somewhat tumultuous. In his last season alone he was suspended THREE TIMES by the Miami Heat, including for the season opener. He was suspended once for social media behavior, a second time for getting caught consuming weed gummies and a third time for skipping practice because he was "sick" but then posting a picture of himself partying for his birthday.

Earlier this week Dion announced his intention to make an NBA comeback. He held a 30 minute workout drill in Las Vegas with a dozen NBA scouts.

Filmmaker James Cameron is selling an amazing 102-acre California ranch, known as "Tranquility Base." Th estate is located within the much larger Hollister Ranch area in Gaviota California. The asking price?

$33 million

The ranch includes a main house that has 8,000 square feet, with five bedrooms and plenty of great views of the Pacific coast nearby.

Cameron and his wife Suzy Amis Cameron purchased the property sometime in the late 90s, around Cameron's "Titanic" heyday (one of several heydays for the director). He reportedly spent a little under $4.4 million on it back then, and soon after was finding visual inspiration in the ocean views from his home office, where he says he wrote parts of both "Avatar" and its recent sequel "Avatar: The Way of Water."

Here's how the "Tranquility Base" ranch is described in official marketing materials:

"Hollister Ranch is a community rich in history and home to many notable owners, yet rarely has there been a legacy offering quite like the front row parcel of 'Tranquility Base" with its 102 acres, generous main estate home with swimming pool and tennis court, guest house, two barns, equestrian facilities, and ranch office. This spectacular parcel stands in its own class as one of the most private and secure compounds on the Coast of Southern California. The ultimate in ranch living, with pastures, horse stalls, trails, gardens, a private well, and much more. A perfect retreat offering uncompromising serenity, breathtaking views of the ocean and islands, and the vast expanse of the Hollister Ranch hills and its native vegetation, wildlife, and natural resources unlike any other place."

Cameon turned the house into a renovation project shortly after purchasing it, transforming it into something with a more harmonic relationship to the surrounding environment. "The previous owner had had a lot of marble," the director told the Wall Street Journal recently. "We brought it back down to something that felt connected to the land."

The property's equestrian barn measures in 24,000 square feet, and Cameron said he's used it for more than just horses, storing helicopters and his famed fleet of underwater exploration vehicles there. He's also explored his interest in agriculture by growing food on the land, close enough to the ocean that he can also do a little whale-spotting. The director also talked about the property's sustainability, with both wind and solar power and a well for irrigation and drinking water:

"I think if the world ends, it's going to end everywhere, so we've got to work pretty hard to make sure that doesn't happen. But in terms of short-term shocks, where you do want to make sure that your family's secure, this would be a good place to weather a storm."

Cameron is selling off the property as part of an effort to reduce his sphere of operation, saying he and his wife had become "scattered around too much" with property in New Zealand and Saskatchewan in addition to Los Angeles and Austin, TX. As he put it:

"We don't believe in having a gigantic carbon footprint. So we felt it was time to pass the baton to somebody else…One major criticism, especially if you're seen as a high-visibility, or high-net worth person is, 'Oh, you've got all these properties all over the place. That's not very sustainable.' We're trying to walk the walk of sustainability."

It goes without saying that Cameron certainly qualifies as a "high-net worth person" thanks to the long list of monster hits to his name (and some smart deals he made in making them), including the "Terminator" franchise, "Titanic," and the "Avatar" films, all of which are among the highest-grossing movies ever made. His Hollister Ranch property will also be something of a commercial benchmark if a buyer is found at its $33 million asking price, as that will reportedly make it one of the most expensive pieces of real estate in the area.

Dr. Paul Nassif, familiar to viewers of the reality series "Botched" on E!, has reportedly sold his three-story Bel Air mansion for the sum of $20.4 million. That's no small sum even for an impressive home like this one, but pretty far short of the $32 million asking price he first listed it for back in 2021.

The home is nestled away in a celeb-friendly gated enclave of Bel-Air, right next door to the famous mansion and architectural fireworks show known as "The One," but with plenty of style of its own. It's got more than 12,000 square feet of living space with seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and six half-baths. Here's part of its official description from its Concierge Auctions listing:

"Envisioned by Bowery Design Group with interior design by Faye Resnick, the ultra-modern yet serene estate boasts nearly one and a half acres with cantilevered architecture that makes the estate appear to float above the hills, affording you iconic views of Downtown L.A. and the ocean beyond. Dripping with a coastal-modern vibe, the home offers spaces to find your zen and other areas to show off in grand style. Artful light fixtures and design features complement the natural palette while retracting glass walls throughout are ready to lure you outside to the spectacular terrace. Enjoy three levels of outdoor living and entertaining spaces—on the main floor terrace, host a crowd overlooking the city or dinner, cocktails, and late-night swimming. Relax in the lower-level, indoor-outdoor wellness retreat."

Concierge Auctions

The listing also touts the mansion's "fitness room, steam room, sauna, and 73-foot swimming pool," all purportedly of the caliber of a professional spa.

Details of the home's new owner don't appear to be public yet. But you can take a look at the former mansion of Dr. Paul Nassif in the video below, also from Concierge Auctions.
